On 25 July, our Finance Manager, Tori, joined with other intrepid swimmers to swim across the Solent, from Stokes Bay, Gosport to Ryde on the Isle of Wight. The swim has now raised over £200k for the Ian Pratt MND Foundation over the 7 years that it has been established.
There were 5 crossings over 3 days with a total of 54 swimmers, supported by 27 kayakers and safety boats.
The 6.9 km crossing took Tori 2 hours and 37 minutes. She said ‘The water was pretty choppy out in the middle of the crossing, and I saw several large jellyfish. My kayaker, Paul, was great and kept me on track. I am very proud to have completed this challenge and raised money at the same time for research and support of those living with Motor Neurone Disease.’
