Importance of human resources recently emphasised in Saudi Arabia

We like to work hard to help many companies in the UK and Europe to place suitable people in both junior and senior HR jobs, as we believe that human resources is crucial to the growth of businesses in many different sectors. Indeed, we reckon that this importance is just as strong in the UK as it is in the Arab state of Saudi Arabia in Western Asia. Why are we explicitly mentioning Saudi Arabia here? Because that was the location of a recent meeting, held by the Jeddah Human Resource Forum, at which the importance of HR was emphasised.

Why Saudi Arabia is relevant to mention here…

Saudi Arabia – officially named the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – is clearly a country that has benefitted from human resources know-how. We say this because the country has what is called a high income economy and is the sole Arab country among the G-20 group of major economies. It was appropriately in the city of Jeddah, which is populated by more than five million people and is one of Saudi Arabia’s crucial commercial hubs, that the aforementioned meeting was held and several notable speakers highlighted the importance of human resources.

HR cited as “an important element in business growth”

Ziad Al-Alsayagh, the country’s Ministry of Labor’s deputy minister of customer service and labor relations, has said that government legislations governing HR must be followed for development – especially private sector development. At the meeting, he drew attention to procedures and legislations recently introduced by the government and said that that they would assist in development of the country’s labour market. At the same meeting, the country president of Schneider Saudi Arabia and Yemen, Ziyad Murtaza, dubbed HR investment “the key to strategic partnerships” and HR development “an important element in business growth in the Kingdom”.

These speakers’ comments also have relevance for HR in the UK and the rest of Europe. What we would like to draw particular attention to is the remark of human resources expert David Jalili, another attendee at the Saudi Arabia event, that it is crucial for HR departments to have the most appropriate staff. We think that many businesses in the UK and elsewhere in Europe should heed this and could much benefit from services of Elite HR, a recruitment agency concerned with effective filling of HR jobs in Surrey, Southampton and a huge number of other places.
