A number of the team here at Key HQ attended the Shaping Portsmouth Conference at the Guildhall last Friday. The Shaping Portsmouth organisation is a community interest company that delivers both a strategic and operational partnership between Portsmouth City Council, Portsmouth businesses and educational institutions at all levels in the City. Their aim is to run valuable and relevant programmes that support the needs of the City and the objectives of their partner organisations.
Jane, Sarah and Justine are all involved in various aspects of Shaping Portsmouth’s work and Justine was a member of a discussion panel at the conference itself (Sarah was also due to be on stage with her but had to miss out due to ill health). The panel discussion was both informative and impressive in equal measure and despite some well-hidden nerves, Justine seemed very much at home in the spotlight. Topping off what was a great day, and following her very first year of volunteering for Shaping Portsmouth, Justine was presented with an award for ‘Outstanding Contribution to Shaping Portsmouth by an Individual’. From the look on her face, this recognition came as a massive surprise to Justine but she took it all in her stride and posed for photographs with the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth and even managed to say a few words of thanks to a packed conference crowd!
We were all so immensely proud of her. Well done Justine, this was so richly deserved recognition of all your hard work!
