Weekly update from Sarah Holmes

Sarah Holmes’ Elite HR weekly update:

Last week at Elite HR was pretty hectic as ever, and as you’ll see, we rarely stopped to smell the coffee!

My colleague Justine Arnold (from the Key Group Commercial Team) and I are involved with the Shaping Portsmouth contribution to National Apprenticeship Week 2019 so we had a fruitful meeting with other Shaping Portsmouth contributors to discuss how we at Elite HR can personally support this brilliant cause. I’ll report more about this in a future post, so watch this space!

Then Jane Barry and I attended a Portsmouth Branch CIPD Transgender Awareness evening at PETA in Cosham.  The ‘See Change’ event was presented by Jo Lockwood and was really well received. The next Portsmouth CIPD event is on Diversity Equality with a specific focus on disability in employment (to book your place call us on 023 9275 1000 and ask for Jane or myself). We also had a Wessex CIPD branch meeting last week.

The latest in a series of Irwin Mitchell Employment Law Seminars was also held last week, on the topic of Employment Tribunals. A brilliant session where all the latest news, views and up-to-date information was shared and discussed.

When one considers that, whilst we were involved in all of the above, we were also busying ourselves with making job placements; giving free CV advice; sourcing new candidates; supporting existing candidates with their interview techniques; and doing our usual networking; you can see why we are SO grateful to our Key Recruitment Group colleagues for keeping the kettle hot!

More from me next week J
