HR Leaders Forums

On Wednesday 19th September, Key Group HQ was the venue for the fourth in a series of HR Leaders Forums.

We decided to host the Leaders’ Forums to provide a ‘safe space’ for HR Leaders to learn about cutting edge HR developments. Attendees can also meet and network with likeminded HR professionals. And as if that isn’t enough, we also have a great buffet lunch!

The presenter on Wednesday was James Potter – also known as the ‘LinkedIn man’- and the subject was; It feels like everybody is on LinkedIn and we all do it – right?

Because we all do what we think is right – but deep down it niggles us that we don’t know if what we are doing is right – we ask the questions;

What is LinkedIn really for?
Are the people I want to meet on there?
Who cares what I’m like on LinkedIn?
What must I do?
What shouldn’t I do?
What about all these strangers that invite me to “connect”?
What does that actually mean?

James Potter discussed all of these questions and more in a simple, highly caffeinated session! It was a popular and lively session and could have been even bigger but there were a few who cancelled on the day (which was a shame as we had quite a long ‘reserve list’ of Leaders who had wanted to attend!)

The feedback has been really positive with some attendees posting on LinkedIn;

I’m already using my new found knowledge…great session! (HRD)

Brilliant event! Thanks James, really appreciate you spending the time with us all, we certainly all went away with some great tips. (JB)

What an informative forum. Thoroughly enjoyed! (FD)

The next HR Leaders’ Forum is on 31st October and the guest presenter will be Madissa Asgari from Toucan Diversity. Madissa will be presenting on the subject of ‘Supporting Inclusive Employment’

Madissa established a social enterprise called, “Toucan Diversity Training” in 2013 which is committed to providing equality training for various establishments including employers, schools and voluntary organisations. Toucan Diversity trainers promote the ‘Social Model’ of disability, to improve the lives of those who have disabilities and want to gain employment.
